The McDonald's Shamrock Shake is a piece of history, a favorite part of many childhoods, and for most of us is now a thing of the past. If you are unfamiliar with the Shamrock Shake, you are missing out. Until the late 1990’s the wonderful tasting minty Shamrock Shake was available at most McDonald's restaurants during the month of March to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day. However, McDonald's has since dropped the Shamrock Shake as an official flavor, except in Ireland. There are still a few franchise owners who elect to offer the Shamrock Shake, but the majority do not.
